Joint Statement by BPS and the World Bank on National and International Poverty Lines

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) has released a report stating the national poverty rate as of March 2026 was 8.07%. Conversely, using the same data and applying the "Upper-Middle-Income Country" classification, the World Bank estimates that 64.1% of Indonesia's population lives below the poverty line based on a standard of US$8.30 PPP—or approximately IDR 51,087—per person per day.
